Shirley Ann Sickler

Shirley Ann Sickler, born February 1st, 1937, in Wausau, Wisconsin, daughter of Fred and Evelyn Pagel, passed into the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ on October 19th, 2024, in the Town of Easton, WI where she lived most of her life with her beloved husband Emory. She was married to Emory J. Sickler on September 21st, 1957, at Salem Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. 

She is survived by her 3 children: Julie (Craig) Emenecker, Wausau, WI; Patti (Rob) Jozwiak, Ringle, WI; and Terri (Ron) Ten Haken, Hatley, WI. She was blessed to have 7 grandchildren: Ashley (Garreck) Goldberg, Seth (Lindy) Jozwiak, Mandi (Justin) Stowell, Ben (Jamie) Jozwiak, Jason (Meghan) Ten Haken, Laura (special friend Adam Juedes) Rodemeier and Ryan (Amanda) Emenecker. She was further blessed by 20 great grandchildren. 

Also surviving are her sisters, Beverly Magrecki of Wausau, WI; Audrey (Dave) Eggebrecht of Phillips, WI; and Lois (Rick) Sickler of Rhinelander, WI, as well as 15 nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Emory.

Shirley graduated from Wausau High School in 1955 and lived in the Town of Easton for 60 years. She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 55 years. 

Shirley loved many things, but caring for her family was first and foremost in her heart, and she will be loved and missed by all who knew her. She also enjoyed Friday night fish fries and playing cards with friends and family. Shirley volunteered at the Dime and Dollar Thrift Store for 36 years.

The family is grateful for the fantastic care of the Wausau Aspirus Hospice staff, and a special thanks to Pastor Ryan Cortright of Redeemer Lutheran Church for his care and visitations, not only for Shirley, but for the spiritual welfare of the family as well. The family also greatly appreciates the prayers and support of the members of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the many friends and family that supported Shirley during her battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31st at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 6404 Old Costa Ln, Schofield, WI 54476. Pastor Ryan Cortright will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery.
