Debra Faye Wienke, 67, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Deb was born November 2, 1956, in Wausau, to the late Elgardt and Elsie (Braunel) Neumann. She graduated from Wausau West High School in 1974. Deb married Harold Wienke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau on October 18, 1975.
Deb recently retired from Church Mutual and enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church, working polls during elections and serving on the Village of Maine Planning Commission. She enjoyed bird-watching and liked flowers. She was known for her delicious baked goods from Harold’s garden and enjoying fish fries with her family.
Special to her were the family vacations that spanned 43 years; gathering family members up north for fun and special time together. Deb was outgoing and made lasting friendships. She especially loved spending time playing cards or going to lunch with her friends and family. Other hobbies involved fishing, enjoying craft shows, and Silver Sneakers exercise class. Harold and Deb loved traveling together, spending time in Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, and the Florida Keys.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Wausau; sons, Ryan Wienke and Glenn Wienke (Katie Bass); grandchildren, Arik (McKenzie), Braeden, Dylan, and Aubrey Wienke; siblings, Clarence “Butch” (Karen) Neumann, Alan (Faith) Neumann, and Linda Holbach; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Steve) Kroening, Diane (Bruce) Smith, Frances Wienke, and Rita (John) Woller; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers-in-law, Ron Holbach, Roger Wienke, Leon Wienke, Roy Wienke; sister-in-law, Diane Neumann; father and mother-in-law, Martin and Margareta (Glawe) Wienke.
Debra’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave, Wausau, WI 54401. Rev. Jim Mayland will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Wausau.
